About our event
For the Millennium Celebrations of 2000, a 7 mile Multi -Terrain Run was organised and implemented in Sutton. Named ‘The Sutton Feast Beast’, it established itself in the running calendar with great success. In it's latter years the run was re-named ‘The Tony Robinson Memorial Run’ after its organiser sadly passed away.
Alongside this main event was ‘The Sutton Mini Beast’, a 2 mile fun run aimed at non serious runners, children and families. This was equally successful. After a year off, 'The Beast' was back bigger and better than ever in 2014 with the new Tony Robinson 10k and Mini-Beast 2.5k runs and the success continued in 2015 and 2016!
Our key aim has always been and continues to be for this event to be friendly, welcoming, and open to the whole community. Please show your support by entering either race or coming to support family and friends on the day. There are age group prizes as well as momento medals and various other goodies for all finishers in both runs. Places in both runs are limited so please get your entry in early to avoid disappointment.
We are pleased to advise that 25% of any proceeds after the event will go to our chosen charity -Arthur Rank - Hospice at Home. With the remainder going towards the running of other Sutton Feast events in Sutton throughout the year and towards next years 'Beast'. The Sutton Feast Committee is a non-profit making organisation.
About Tony Robinson
Tony first became 'The Beast' organizer in 2006, and succesfully put on the event every year up until and including 2010, 4 months before he died.
He was a regular competitor in the event prior to being the organizer, right from when it started back in 2000. Tony was a keen runner and he also regularly ran marathons.
Tony loved all sport, although his main loves were Rugby, Walking, Running and Cricket. He was a PE specialist working in local secondary schools and at Homerton College, Cambridge and he actively encouraged people of all ages to take part in and enjoy sport, which is what 'The Beast' is all about.
We are delighted that this event continues to have the full support of the Robinson family with Tony's wife, Terry, an active member of the Sutton Feast Committee and their children regular participants.
